The David Young Community Academy in Leeds opened in September 2006. British Thornton provided the F&E consultancy; they were also selected as the fitted furniture supplier and manufactured a substantial amount of the loose furniture for this ICT rich learning environment. The furniture was manufactured to a high specification to ensure the Academy had a corporate image. British Thornton ensured that the furniture could be integrated with ICT to give the school state of the art technology today, but would also be flexible enough to allow change in five or ten years time.
