The Academies Show, London 2016

British Thornton exhibited at The Academies Show in London on 20th April 2016. The event was held at ExCel, and as a key event in the calendar for those looking to keep up with the latest developments and issues affecting schools in the UK, it was well attended by teachers, school business managers and governors as well as representatives from local authorities, charities and voluntary groups.

The Rt Hon Nicky Morgan MP, Education Secretary gave the keynote address and a programme of interesting and insightful seminars ran throughout the day providing information and advice on a variety of key topics, including funding, performance, recruitment, leadership and staff development.

British Thornton exhibited their Trudy brand of primary and early years furniture and the bright, fun, cleverly designed furniture proved popular with show goers. keeping the stand team busy throughout the day.

The show was also an opportunity for British Thornton to officially launch it's new Trudy fixed furniture range. Designed to fully complement the existing range of loose furniture, the new Trudy fixed furniture allows classrooms to benefit from consistent design throughout. As part of the stand display, a case study video of the recently completed Halifax Academy Primary was played. Head Teacher Lesley Bowyer spoke about her thoughts on her purchasing journey, when fitting out the brand new Academy and why she chose the Trudy range from British Thornton. Watch the video below.
