The project was tendered through the London University Purchasing Consortium framework, and the winning proposal from Claughtons (now part of British Thornton) featured bespoke furniture designs which successfully married the features of the existing building with modern furnishings to create a bright, contemporary environment.

The central London location, along with the number of products and suppliers involved proved a challenge, particularly with the project being completed over the busy summer period.

By working closely with the architect and other onsite contractors the experienced project team proved that they have the skills to implement a large scale and logistically complicated project on time and to a high standard.

The brief for the project provided the opportunity to showcase products that the company hadn’t featured in educational buildings before, and the success of the contract has opened up new potential for British Thornton in London and the South of England.
