World Record Attempt

On the 14th of July Joshua Berrey from the British Thornton Maintenance team will take on a 12 hour non-stop treadmill run at NRGym in Keighley. The event will run from 07.00 to 19.00 and Josh is raising money for Help for Heroes, providing direct, practical support for wounded, sick and injured Veterans, Servicemen and Women and their loved ones.

The challenge is twinned with an effort to break the current World Record for the longest distance covered in 12 hours on a treadmill. The record is currently set at 81.62miles and held by David Staley of Denver Colorado, USA. Josh is training hard to beat this record and his aim is to set a time of 6.9mph, which will take him to 82.8 miles. The Guinness book of world records has Josh’s application and with all the hard work he is putting in training, Josh thinks the record is definitely achievable.
